Meet Jonathan Cyphers
Jonathan Cyphers is a New Hampshire born singer-songwriter living in Nashville, TN. Jonathan blends contemporary indie-folk and alternative influences with a message of hope to create a unique and impactful sound that is completely his own. His introspective lyrics and intimate vocals draw the listener into deep conversations about the tension of faith and the experiences of life. Growing up in New England gave Jonathan a unique perspective on living out his faith in Christ, which you hear throughout his music - no subject is off limits, but the song isn't finished until true and authentic hope is found.
Jonathan's first EP, "The Comeback Kid," was released independently during the summer of 2023, featuring songs that cover topics like loneliness, depression, fear, and how to find hope in those darkest moments. Jonathan has continued to release singles since then. "More" - featuring co-writer Alex Mabey - was released in the Fall 2023, followed by “Slow Down” in February 2024, and “For The First Time” in July 2024. “More Than A Miracle” - in collaboration with Grace Graber - was released in November 2024, followed quickly by two singles: “The Hope” and an acoustic version of “The Silence” in celebration of its two year anniversary. In January 2025, Jonathan released “Take It All” - a belting anthem to kick off the new year - and followed it up with his single “Like Gravity” in April and “Like Gravity 2.0” in May, featuring a piano and strings version of the single. “Closer Than A Friend” was released in August of 2025, inspired by his relationship with God and Psalm 51: “remind me of the joy of my salvation.” This cry is at the center of all of Jonathan’s music, that the hope and joy found in God would resonate through all things.
Jonathan’s most recent single, “WIIAWO?” was release October 2025, after he experienced a fairly severe car accident. Written prior to the accident, the primary message “what if it all works out?” became a message of hope in the midst of the chaos that followed the incident. It has been a timely word for Jonathan and one he felt needed to be shared with others, in hopes that it might encourage them as well. It’s not easy to be hopeful when the world feels upside down, but maybe this song can be of some help.
“My desire is for the listener to feel seen and heard, challenged, and encouraged. Life has a way of knocking us down, but hope is the thing that keeps us getting up. Even in the midst of the darkest, hardest moments, we can find hope to keep going. I want my songs to help people find that hope."
